High-speed cell sorters are used in fields as disparate as vaccine development and global climate change. Dr. Timothy W. Peterson, from the Advanced Cytometry Group at Becton Dickinson Biosciences, will describe how high-speed cell sorters use lasers to measure, classify, and sort cells into constituent populations and share a few novel applications for this technology.
